My Story :
Positive Character Educator
I am Leslie Marie Fatland (formerly Wheeler): Author, Illustrator, Storyteller and Public Speaker. I'm a passionate educator that is living purposefully by helping teach children how to look at themselves and others from the heart's perspective.
After teaching for over 2 years in Indonesia, I was left with a deep desire to help myself and others learn how to be better people starting from the inside-out, rather than from the outside-in.
I discovered that the best way to do this was through the art of writing and illustration.
I began writing and illustrating children's books to help them learn Positive Character Behaviors in the classroom and at home.
My Mission :
To Teach Children How to Be Beautiful From the Inside-Out
Society tells us that in order to be beautiful people we must look, dress and behave in a particular way (fit-in).
I am here to tell our precious youth that Society has got it all wrong.
When we exhibit Positive Character Behaviors such as compassion, wisdom, enthusiasm, creativity, reverence and helpfulness, we are being beautiful! The truth is, we are all beautiful in our own, individual way. Let's choose to teach our children self-love, self-esteem, confidence and self- worth by teaching them the truth: that true beauty lives inside of us.
